History

September 2009 will mark the 60th anniversary of ABC Press. My brother Jason and I are thankful to have had the opportunity to purchase the business from our father Ron Roper on May 1, 2003, becoming the fourth owners of this long standing printing company.

Allan R. Bock and Albert P. Collings founded ABC Press on September 12th, 1949. By combining their initials, the name ABC Press was created. My family also has a long history in the printing industry. My great grandfather, Elmer Roper, started in the industry on May 3, 1907. On March 1, 1932, Elmer formed Commercial Printers Limited in Edmonton, Alberta. Elmer’s son (my grandfather) Lyall started his apprenticeship at the company
in 1934, and was made general manager
in 1957. Elmer and Lyall expanded the
company into a very successful business
that was sold in January 1970. Ron started
his apprenticeship in 1965 and was plant manager when he resigned to take over
ABC Press in 1979.

My brother Jason and I along with our staff work to maintain the tradition of satisfying our clients through our unique mix of high quality printing, competitive pricing and outstanding customer service. Please contact one of us for more information or to discuss the details of your next project.

Sincerely,
Curtis Roper
