Roper Family Timeline

1907

Elmer Roper begins an apprenticeship as press feeder for
the Hammond Lithographing Company.

1921

Elmer becomes a shareholder in the newly formed Henry
Roche Printing Company.

1932

Elmer purchases remaining shares of Henry Roche Printing
Company and changes name to Commercial Printers Limited.

1934

Elmer's son Lyall Roper starts as apprentice in typesetting and
composing at Commercial Printers Limited.

1965

Lyall's son Ron Roper starts an apprenticeship in typesetting
and composing at Commercial Printers.

1970

Lyall and Elmer sell Commercial Printers Limited to
F.P. Publications. Ron stays on as first superintendent
at newly renamed Bulletin-Commercial Printers.

1979

Ron Roper purchases ABC Press and becomes the 3rd
owner of the company, established in 1949.

1986

Ron's son Curtis Roper begins apprenticeship in pre-press
at ABC Press.

1990

Ron's son Jason Roper starts in pre-press at ABC Press after
attending print management at SAIT.

2003

Curtis and Jason purchase ABC Press from Ron.
